Police appeal issued after man 'stands in St Helier road to block female driver' – almost causing her to crash

A POLICE appeal has been issued after a driver nearly crashed into a wall when a man allegedly stood in the road in an attempt to block her.

The woman was driving her black Fiat 500 down Clarendon Road at between 9.30pm and 10pm on 23 December when the man allegedly stepped into the road – causing her to swerve and nearly hit a wall.

The police say he shouted abuse at her in Portuguese as she drove off ‘visibly shaken’.

The pair are known to each other and the suspect was later arrested on suspicion of domestic-related harassment, but released on conditional bail after being interviewed by police, the force has confirmed.
