A DISABILITY inclusion campaign has been launched by the government to raise awareness.

The campaign encourages Islanders to think about how they can be more inclusive through its strapline, ‘Embrace it, Share it, Celebrate it’. It is being led by gold medal-winning Paralympic swimmer Liz Johnson.

Social Security Minister Malcolm Ferey said: ‘It is important that we continue to be visible and keep awareness of this topic at the forefront of everyone’s minds, so it becomes the norm.’

The campaign follows the Embrace our Difference event held at the Jersey Library earlier this month.

Deputy Ferey added: ‘The event was a fantastic opportunity to have so many organisations, who are proactive and focused on supporting disabled Islanders all in one place. It was great to see everyone together and show how we can all make a difference and are responsible for using our voice to make a positive change.’
