PROPOSALS to redevelop the former Water’s Edge Hotel in Bouley Bay and replace it with a luxury home have been approved by the Planning Committee.
The dilapidated hotel will be demolished and a new property will be built with guest and staff accommodation, a swimming pool, a tennis court as well as a new dive centre and café.
Mary Tunney, owner of Mad Mary’s at Bouley Bay, will also be given a lease that runs until 2029 in order to allow her to continue operating her café.
Work will also take place to stabilise the rock face above her café, which has subsided in the past.
The members of the Planning Committee voted 4-2 in favour of the development.
