WITNESSES are being sought after a car crashed into metal railings outside a store in Val Plaisant.

The States police are appealing for information about the incident, which is said to have taken place on Saturday around 1.15pm.

A silver Peugeot Partner was reportedly travelling southbound along Val Plaisant in the direction of St Thomas’s Church, before mounting the pavement and colliding with metal railings just before the pedestrian crossing by the Morrison’s store.

The police have said the driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, while the vehicle – which had considerable damage to its front – needed to be towed.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the police on 612612, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
