MINISTERS have unveiled their plans for 2023 – including commitments to bring a new population policy, tackling the climate emergency and making improvements to the Island’s mental health services.

The ministerial plans form part of the government’s work programme and will be updated annually. They also set out what legislative changes will be needed over the course of the next 12 months.

Following the release last week of the Common Strategic Policy and the Government Plan, each minister has outlined their individual priorities, with Chief Minister Kristina Moore stating that she will bring a new Common Population Policy by the end of June 2023.

Environment Minister Jonathan Renouf has said that, among his priorities, he will deliver the first phase of the Island’s Carbon Neutral Roadmap, including a ‘focus on the decarbonisation of heating buildings and road transport’.

Deputy Moore said: ‘As a Council of Ministers, we are committed to restoring trust and leading a compassionate government that delivers for Islanders’ needs. These ministerial plans provide all ministers with a clear platform setting their annual priorities, and include decisive and responsible action on issues affecting Islanders.’
