A JERSEY Fire and Rescue Service commander shared the proudest moment of his career after being selected to march in the late Queen’s funeral procession held on Monday.

Ryan Hall was one of 16 chosen officers from the UK. The group walked a total of 31 miles in practise for the event.

He received the call from the Home Office within 24 hours of the death of Her Majesty and needed to be in London five days ahead of the funeral to start rehearsals.

He said : ‘The whole experience was immensely humbling, and the sense of pride as I stepped out into the procession will mark the proudest moment of my career.’
