UNDERWATER footage of bluefin tuna captured by a Guernsey-based cinematographer has been praised by a marine conservation pressure group.
The video was put together by Matthew Stockreiter in collaboration with environmental organisation Wild Islands, and includes slow-motion clips of the fish gliding through the water near Guernsey.
This is special! Easily the best underwater footage of UK bluefin tuna we've ever seen. Filmed by @Wildislands_ in the Channel Islands. pic.twitter.com/vFxjPigfnZ

Reposting the footage on their social media page, the Blue Planet Society – which has over 200,000 followers on Twitter – said: ‘This is special! Easily the best underwater footage of UK bluefin tuna we’ve ever seen.’
Mr Stockreiter said the sequence would hopefully form part of a wider documentary about conservation and marine life.
‘We were out on the boat for hours trying to actually find them,’ he said.
‘Obviously I shot in slow motion, but in real-time speed they are pretty much like torpedoes.’
