AN 87-year-old man has died after he crashed into a granite wall while driving down a hill in St Lawrence on Monday afternoon.
The States police are appealing for information after the man, who was driving a red Toyota Starlet, collided with a granite wall towards the bottom of Mont Cambrai at around 1.15pm on Monday.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance after a member of the public came across the vehicle and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His family have been informed, but formal identification awaits.
In a statement made by the States police, they said: ‘Anyone who may have seen this collision or who may have seen the red Toyota driving in the area beforehand, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage are asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org’.
