A MAN from Liverpool has been charged with importing thousands of pounds worth of class A drugs into Jersey.
Lawrence David Mitchell appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning having been charged with the importation of around four ounces of cocaine.
The 36-year-old is accused of arriving in the Island last Friday on a flight from Liverpool carrying the drugs – with an approximate street value of between £13,500 and £25,000 – internally.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Royal Court on 11 October.
