REAL Housewives of Jersey star Margaret Thompson has been fined £2,900 for breaching Covid rules.

She appeared before the Magistrate’s Court last Thursday and pleaded guilty to failing to isolate when legally required to do so and a further breach of Covid-19 regulations. She was fined £400 for failing to isolate – the equivalent of two weeks imprisonment – and £2,500 for the second offence – the equivalent of six weeks in prison.

When contacted by the JEP on Friday, Ms Thompson denied that she had been in court and said ‘I am sure it was someone by the same name’.

However, the Magistrate’s Court has since confirmed that it was in fact the reality TV star.

Ms Thompson appeared in two series of the show which was broadcast on ITV. Earlier this year, a spokesperson for ITV confirmed there are ‘no plans for future series of The Real Housewives of Jersey at present’.
