A ST Saviour branch of Lloyds Bank is to close before the end of the year – with 18 jobs set to be lost in Jersey.

Lloyds has confirmed that the branch at Five Oaks will close, along with branches in Alderney and in St Martin in Guernsey.

A total of 34 job will be lost across the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, although the bank has said it will look to redeploy staff in other areas of the business.

Alasdair Gardner, islands director at Lloyds Bank International said: ‘Our Five Oaks branch in Jersey will close later on this year in response to the significant reduction in customers using this branch over the last ten years. Our customers have more choice than ever in how they bank with us with many carrying out their everyday banking online. We continue to invest in our branches, as seen with the refurbishment of the Lloyds Bank in Broad Street. We have two branches in Jersey at 8 Broad Street, St Helier and La Route Des Quennevais, St Brelade, which are a short drive away and also accessible by public transport and customers can also continue to use nearby free to use ATMs.’
