Man charged with £220,000 cocaine importation

A 20-YEAR-OLD from the UK has been charged with importing around £220,000 worth of cocaine.

Elijah Eric Silbourne was stopped by Customs officers at the Harbour having travelled from Poole on 1 June.

It is alleged that Mr Silbourne had around 1kg of cocaine in his car.

Mr Silbourne appeared before the Magistrate’s Court where he was told that the case was so serious that it would have to be dealt with by the Royal Court. He was remanded in custody to appear before the Royal Court on 28 July.

A woman was also travelling with him and was arrested but subsequently released without charge.
