AN independent election candidate has threatened to take the States Greffe to court if his campaign is affected after being incorrectly listed as a party member in a manifesto booklet.
Deputy Kirsten Morel, who is standing for Deputy in St John, St Lawrence and Trinity, said he was ‘devastated’ after he was wrongly labelled as a Jersey Alliance party member on page 21 of the booklets which are being distributed to Island households this week.
Sadly, the States Greffe has made a major mistake and listed me as a member of a party in the manifesto booklet.

I AM AN INDEPENDENT candidate and have never been a party member. @StatesAssembly @Voteje
‘I am absolutely devastated.
‘I am an independent candidate. If this hurts my elections, I will see the Greffe in court,’ he said.
Vote.je has apologised for the mistake and said it will send an updated leaflet in due course.
