SIR Mark Boleat has been announced as the leader of the Jersey Alliance Party.
The financier, who once served as the chairman of the policy and resources committee for the City of London Corporation, will be the party’s candidate for Chief Minister should he win a seat in June.
He was elected as the party leader during an event at the Royal Yacht Hotel on Saturday where he told those attending that he was confident of producing an Alliance government.
Sir Mark, who was born in Jersey, has also served as chairman of Andium Homes, the Jersey Development Company and the Jersey Competition and Regulatory Authority.
He was knighted in 2017 for services to the finance industry and local government in London.
Alliance is one of four parties due to take part in this year’s election, alongside Reform Jersey, Progress and the Jersey Liberal Conservatives.
