The Jersey Integrated Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment – which investigates how Jersey’s marine land and marine environments contribute to its sense of place – has been recognised in the Royal Town Planning Institute South West Awards for Planning Excellence.
The RTPI planning awards are the longest-running and most high-profile awards in the industry, celebrating the best of planning in the British Isles.
The Government of Jersey’s head of place and spatial planning, Kevin Pilley, said: ‘To have our work recognised
outside the Island in this way is very rewarding.
‘I am delighted that the RTPI considered the ILSCA to be both innovative and a potential exemplar in planning for other island and coastal communities.’
In the South West division of the awards, Jersey’s ILSCA won the Excellence in Plan Making Category and the overall Excellence in Planning Award. As a result, Jersey has made it through to the RTPI’s national awards, which will take place in April 2021.
