Christmas graffiti damages mural

The Climate Stripes for Jersey mural, painted by artist Ian Rolls, is a visual representation of how the Island’s annual average air temperature has changed since records began and is painted near to the entrance of the Arcade on the roadside.

In a statement, the States police said the mural is believed to have been damaged sometime between 8pm on Christmas Day and 9am on Boxing Day.

Orange spray paint has been used to write ‘brrrrr’ across the mural, along with other graffiti, some of it freehand and some of it in stencil.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at Crimestoppers-uk.org
