Request for publication of Charlie Parker’s appraisal

Senator Kristina Moore, chairperson of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel, has written an open letter to Chief Minister John Le Fondré pointing out that last year Mr Parker’s appraisal was made publicly available in June.

And the Senator has now called for an explanation for the ‘delay’ in producing the same report this year, having already pursued the matter two months ago.

‘In your letter to the panel dated 16 July 2020 you indicated that Charlie Parker’s 2020 performance appraisal as the chief executive officer of the Government of Jersey was under way and would be concluded by the end of July 2020,’ the letter says.

‘As we have now entered September, the panel formally requests an explanation for the delay in publishing the appraisal report and requests that a copy be forwarded to the panel.

‘We note that the panel received a copy of Mr Parker’s 2019 appraisal report in June of that year. We look forward to your response and would appreciate it if this can please be received by Friday 11 September 2020.’

Senator Le Fondré’s letter of 16 July said that he would provide a ‘statement’ on the chief executive’s appraisal once it had been concluded.
