The bird – who apparently goes by the alias Roger because of his ability to dodge law enforcement – has repeatedly targeted the Morrisons shop at Castle Quay in recent weeks.
Onlookers say Roger has a clear MO and the raids are obviously pre-meditated, as he is always seen casing out the store before striking when there are no customers around.
Ruth Hewitson, works for G4S and filmed Roger making off with a bag of sliced fruit, said: ‘He appears after 5pm and will wait for it to be quiet. He has been stealing for at least two weeks and always goes for sliced apples and escapes to the same spot every time.’
