Visit Jersey Zoo – from the comfort of your home

Having been forced to close its doors last month as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the attraction has now joined forces with Danny Richardson Photoraphy to bring Islanders the opportunity to explore the whole site without leaving their homes.

A statement on the Jersey Zoo Facebook page said: ‘Join us from the comfort of your sofa this Easter Weekend for a virtual day out at Jersey Zoo.

‘Go on an immersive zoo adventure in search of Stumpy the ring-tailed lemur, learn about the animals at our keeper talks and watch them enjoy special Easter treats.

‘Tune in each day for Easter fun and animal antics on our Facebook page. We will be announcing the weekend schedule this Friday so watch this space.’

At the time of the park’s closure in March, the management team issued a statement confirming that keepers and vets were still on site providing care for over 1,000 animals.

They said: ‘Please be assured our dedicated team of keepers, vets and other direct support staff will ensure that all our animals continue to receive the very best care. We understand these are uncertain times for everyone and we are so grateful for the continued support of our members, visitors, adopters and donors.

‘As a charity, we rely solely on this support to look after over 1,000 animals here at Jersey Zoo and to continue our vital conservation work protecting the world’s most precious ecosystems and wildlife.’
