Jersey Hemp at major UK CBD event

The Island-based company’s chief science officer, Chris Callaghan, spoke at the the Hemp and CBD Expo, which was the first event of its kind in the UK and was dedicated to hemp products and the CBD industry.

Attendees included the European Industrial Hemp Association, the Cannabis Trades Association UK and the British Hemp Association, with networking events also held.

Speaking before the event, Jersey Hemp chief executive David Ryan said that his team was ‘delighted’ to be exhibiting its products at the trade show.

‘We are passionate about what we do and are the leading hemp and CBD producers in the British Isles,’ he said.

‘We have a team of dedicated scientists, researchers, agricultural experts and environmentalists, so when you shop with us, you can trust that you are buying natural products.

‘At Jersey Hemp, we use stringent third-party testing and analysis, which means our customers have a guarantee of quality and purity on the products they buy.’

It is estimated that CBD product sales in the UK, which are currently at £300 million, could reach £1bn by 2025.

A statement released by the company added: ‘Jersey Hemp, which was the first producer in the British Isles to be granted a licence for commercial harvesting of hemp flowers for CBD extraction, will be at the NEC
Expo exhibiting its Premium Full Spectrum CBD Oil.

‘Founded by three former firefighters, this major event marks an important milestone for Jersey Hemp as they present the first British-grown and extracted CBD on a prestigious national stage, representing the first time a British Isles producer will be able to compete commercially on a level playing field with producers in China, Eastern Europe and the Americas, where the CBD on the UK’s retail shelves is currently manufactured.’
