Personal trainer Harry Zambon raised more than £12,000 for the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity before his death on 23 February last year.
Mr Zambon, who was a finalist in the Pride of Britain Awards in 2018, suffered a stroke and two brain haemorrhages at the age of 21 before being diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer.
In the years following his diagnosis Mr Zambon, who set up ZAMBONfitness when he was 20, worked to encourage others with serious illnesses to build their strength through fitness.
Sharon Shepherd, Mr Zambon’s mother, is auctioning a Celtic FC shirt, signed by club captain Scott Brown, which was presented to her son when he attended a match between Celtic and Manchester United in 2008. Proceeds will go to the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.
Mrs Shepherd has also acquired an England rugby shirt worn and signed by Jerseyman Kyran Bracken, who won 51 England caps between 1993 and 2003. The rugby shirt is to be auctioned with the money raised going towards the memorial garden that is planned in Mr Zambon’s memory.
Both items are to go under the hammer of auctioneer Simon Drieu at Glencoe Auction Rooms in St Lawrence on Wednesday 26 February, with 100% of the proceeds going to the good causes. The auction will take place at 11am, and bids can be made in person or by calling 869300.
