The event, which runs on 28 and 29 March, is intended to kick-start the visitor season by encouraging Islanders to spread the word about what the Island offers, according
to Visit Jersey’s chief executive, Keith Beecham.
‘It really is as good as it sounds – residents can bid for free tickets at www.jerseybigweekend.co.uk until 8th March. The winners are selected by ballot, so there are plenty of reasons to bid for as many different attractions and activities as possible. You never know what you might win, and how much fun you could be having,’ he said.
There is no limit to the number of attractions – including, for example, include Jersey Adventures, Jersey Zoo, Valley Adventure Centre, Jump Jersey and La Mare Wine
Estate – that Islanders can express interest in before 8 March when the ballot will allocate a pair of tickets to the winning households. Tamara O’Brien, JT’s group head of customer experience, explained that JT’s world-class connectivity was crucial to many Jersey attractions because it enabled virtual tours, WiFi hotspots and leading edge online ticketing systems. ‘That’s why The Jersey Big Weekend is the perfect partnership for us to celebrate our beautiful Island and all it has to offer, as well as see how technology is enabling this,’ she said.
