Beer festival to open this weekend

Arranged at short notice after the cancellation of the Havre des Pas Seaside Festival, organisers have worked to bring together producers of cider, ale, craft beer, gin and other spirits for the two-day weekend event.

It is a joint venture by BeServed Group and the Jersey branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.

Co-organiser Marcus Calvani said: ‘It has come along at short notice with what happened with the seaside festival, but it isn’t really to replace that. We have been planning to put something on for a few years now, a slot opened up in the Lido calendar and we jumped at it.

‘It has been a bit frantic, but it promises to be something for everyone.

‘We have marquees outside with the alcohol, craft ales and gins, then inside we have various food stalls from producers around
feature a selection of 80 craft beers, real ales and ciders from across the UK, Europe and USA as well as local brews.

Entertainment will come from DJ sets by Ben Newman, John O’Connell and DJ Nelson, and entry is free for CAMRA card holders.
