Guiton Group statement
THE Guiton Group has confirmed that it intends to sell the Guernsey Press Company and is in advanced discussions with the corporate finance department of Ravenscroft Ltd, which is acting on behalf of clients.
Non-binding heads of terms have been signed with the objective of concluding the deal by late summer.
Guiton Group Chairman John Averty said: ‘The Guernsey Press has a strong local heritage spanning back more than 120 years, so we are pleased to secure an agreement in principle to be acquired by buyers who understand and respect the local marketplace’.
The Guernsey Press has deeper roots, having absorbed La Gazette Officielle, which has appeared in an unbroken line since 1791 and The Star, which began publication in 1813.
