SCOOP founders learned earlier this year that their lease with the shop was being terminated just a few months after opening the eco-friendly store.
They crowd-funded to open SCOOP by signing shoppers up to a membership scheme which entitled members to discounts in the shop in exchange for a monthly fee.
But in January they learned they would have to find new premises within three months.
Co-founder Kaspar Wimberley said SCOOP would continue, although no details on a new location could be announced at this stage.
The co-operative will have a break in trading for one month and is encouraging shoppers to stock up today on their organic foods and products.
Memberships will be paused while the co-op is not trading.
‘SCOOP will always be committed to creating infrastructures that allow organic farming in Jersey to thrive,’ Mr Wimberley said.
‘It’s been wonderful to see the SCOOP community grow and we have been excited by the interest that has been shown in what we offer.
‘We were able to employ a full-time member of staff and were broadening the range of products available.
‘We were also starting to invite school groups, run workshops and discussions, serve winter warming soups, present live acoustic sets with some of the Island’s musicians and host craft-making and apple-juicing sessions.
‘In a short space of time we have demonstrated that our concept can work financially and has the potential to grow in the future, with the view to developing a fund that can help develop infrastructures that will allow organic farming in Jersey to thrive.’
SCOOP will be marking its last day at Vermont with live music from David Keenan and the Songwriters Society and Polish food being served by Sweet Heaven.
Last week the organisers held a sustainable ‘feast’ to say thank you to all of the volunteers and organic farmers who they have worked with over the past six months.
Stock will be moved to Fresh Farm Organics until a new venue can be found.
