Former Islander Simon Boulstridge Bailey is accused of six fraud-related offences, including the fraudulent sale of the Belgravia Financial Services Group.

He is the third defendant to appear before the court in recent months linked to the Belgravia case.

Last month, Russell King (59), who was extradited to Jersey from Bahrain where he has been living, appeared in court charged with 11 counts of forgery, six charges of falsifications of accounts, three counts of larceny, five counts of fraudulent conversion, one charge of uttering a forged document and one charge of attempted fraud.

He appeared alongside 55-year-old Paul Barber, who was arrested in West Sussex.

Mr Barber is facing six charges of falsification of accounts, three counts of fraudulent conversion and three of larceny.

Yesterday, Mr Bailey appeared in the Royal Court charged with five counts of forgery and one charge of uttering a forged document.

In a statement which named Mr Bailey yesterday Det Insp Lawrence Courtness said: ‘A former local resident linked to the Belgravia Financial Services Group will be appearing in court today following lengthy extradition proceedings involving the States of Jersey Police Joint Financial Crime Unit and the Law Officers’ Department working closely with the National Crime Agency, Interpol, the Philippine authorities, and the Jersey Financial Services Commission.’

All three defendants are due to appear before the Royal Court on 19 October.
