He is due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday in connection with the offence, which happened on Friday 9 March.

In a statement, the States police said: ‘We would like to thank all members of the community who came forward with information.

‘However the investigation is continuing and we would like to appeal to any other members of the public who may have seen anything suspicious in the area on Friday evening to contact the police and speak to an officer.

‘We would like to remind the community that these types of incidents are thankfully rare in Jersey and we continue to work with our partner agencies to reduce the risk to the community of these types of crime occurring.’
