Filming of the movie, called Guernsey, began earlier this year in the UK. Most of the scenes have been shot in Devon, including in Clovelly and Bideford, and a small number have been filmed in Bristol. No scenes have been shot in Guernsey.
The two pictures, which were released by StudioCanal, which is part-financing the film, show the two lead actors, Lily James and Michiel Huisman, in full 1940s costume.
The first of the photographs shows Lily James with the famous vintage steam ship the Balmoral in Bristol.
It is here where producers were recreating the 1940s Guernsey dockside.
The second photograph is of the actress alongside her co-star.
Lily James is playing the free-spirited journalist character Juliet Ashton, who forms a life-changing bond with the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
She decides to write about the book club they formed during the Occupation. Juliet’s first contact with the island, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, is with farmer Dawsey Adams, played by Mr Huisman.
