The move is part of a number of measures senior managers have introduced aimed at minimising the length of time that an Islander is admitted to the Hospital.
Paul Rendell, acting team manager of the adult social care team, said that the boards, which will hang above patients’ beds, are due to be rolled out in the next few weeks.
In the past 12 months a number of changes have been made to speed up the safe discharge of patients, including basing social workers at the Hospital, and providing more care in the community.
Mr Rendell said: ‘We are doing everything we can to minimise patients having to unnecessarily stay in the Hospital longer than they have to.’
