Man due in court after town stabbing

The Jersey-born suspect was arrested on Friday night after a 73-year-old man was found with ‘multiple stab wounds’ to his torso outside flats in Vauxhall Street.

He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

The identity of the victim was today due to be revealed in Court after detectives spent the weekend trying to track down his next of kin.

Speaking to the JEP, the man who saw the pensioner collapse in the street has described his ‘panic and shock’ and how he helped paramedics trying to save the man’s life.
