Huge 1905 organ needs new home

And the current owner wants to sell the musical instrument to someone living in the Channel Islands.

Phil Read has been the owner of the instrument for the past 30 years, but, due to unforeseen circumstances, he is now looking to sell.

Mr Read’s instrument is an ornately carved, 52-key Foucher Gasparini Dutch street organ and he bought it from the Netherlands for almost £17,000 and has been travelling from his home in the UK to the West Show Guernsey for the past 12 years.

He is now looking for the perfect owner of the huge organ – and is hoping that they live in either in Jersey or Guernsey so the instrument can continue to play a part in the annual show.
