Gordon Troy, of CI Modular (cimodular.je), is currently using a prefabricated system to rebuild a hotel and apartments in Guernsey, and has also been commissioned to construct a private property in Jersey.
The Cidark P3 system, which originated from San Sebastian in northern Spain, has recently been accredited in the UK by the Bopas scheme, which is co-ordinated jointly by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Lloyds Register and the Council of Mortgage Lenders, among others.
The system is made up of portable panels which are pre-wired and pre-plumbed and which bolt together, which means that a new home can be ready for occupation within weeks. The kit is shipped in containers and delivered to the site ready for assembly.
