New signs to point the way for tourists

It is hoped that the new additions, which were put in place by the parish of St Helier with funding from the Jersey Development Company and the Tourism Development Fund, will more clearly set out what can be found in town and therefore encourage visitors to spend more money.

Two more signs are due to be installed, one in Pitt Street pending the completion of the new Co-op building and another in Parade Gardens following the installation of a First World War memorial.

Project manager Laurence Phillips said that the original Centre Ville signs were difficult to understand and needed replacing.
