Refugee camps in France issue urgent appeal for tinned food

The Jersey Calais Refugee Aid Group (JCRAG) has issued an urgent appeal for food, particularly donations of tinned fish, after medics in the camps raised the alarm about the lack of protein in people’s diets.

More than 7,000 people are said to be living in refugee camps in France, and last week major aid organisations were unable to feed the thousands of people living in them for the first time since the beginning of 2015.

Anyone wishing to donate food can contact JRCAG on Facebook or drop donations off at St Brelade’s College Monday to Saturday before 5 pm.
