Kids’ Triathlon raises £8,000

Held at Les Quennevais Sports Centre, the non-competitive event involved 400 youngsters, aged from six to 13, who swam, cycled and ran in their respective age-groups as a means of developing their skills in the three disciplines.

They included one eight-year-old for whom the challenge was particularly tough and who managed to raise over £1,000 – Kai Ballantyne (8), of Grands Vaux, has mild autism and other behavioural problems which meant that completing this challenge was a huge achievement for him.

The participants were cheered on their way by parents and friends and all received goodie bags, t-shirts and medals to mark their achievement.

Various spot prizes were drawn and the shield for the school which has the most number of participants was presented to St George’s School.
