French strikes may not now hit holidaymakers

News | Published:

HOLIDAYMAKERS are not likely to face significant disruption while travelling to France next week, despite the continuing strikes, according to CI Travel Group.

However, Robert Mackenzie, managing director of the company, said that they are monitoring the situation on a day-by-day basis and that the strikes still had the potential to cause some problems next week.

Condor crossings to St Malo were delayed by an hour on Thursday as dock workers joined the action, with Friday's sailings also due to be pushed back by an hour.

The protests were launched last week in response to reforms which will change rules governing the working week, overtime pay and other labour protection.
