Craig Daniel Lumb punched the woman in the face after losing his temper in a St Helier street, the Magistrate’s Court heard on Monday.

The actions of the 33-year-old, who comes from Grimsby, Humberside, left his victim traumatised, and with a fractured cheekbone and bruising to her eye, the court was told.

Outlining the case, St Helier Centenier Danny Scaife, prosecuting, told the court that Lumb, who has one previous conviction for assaulting the same woman in the UK, shouted at her in Kensington Place on 29 January before he was seen taking ‘a full swing’ at her face.

Lumb was sentenced to 120 hours’ community service and put on probation for eight months. He was also ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
