Retailers unite against plan to end cheap drink deals

In an unprecedented show of unity, retail group SandpiperCI and the Channel Islands Co-Operative Society have joined forces to fight proposed changes that are being led by the Economic Development Department as part of a package of law reforms that would outlaw promotions and special offers on alcohol.

From this weekend Islanders are able to sign the petition in stores across Jersey.

Last month the department outlined proposed new regulations that would stop buy-one-get-one-free deals, time-limited price reductions and bulk discount on alcohol and a consultation is now being carried out on the proposals.
