St Brelades Bay voted third best beach in Britain – but is it your favourite? Take part in our poll

Woolacombe beach in Devon topped the list, with Weymouth second, while Rhossili Bay in Swansea was fourth and Porthmeor beach in St Ives, Cornwall, was fifth.

The number one beach in the world was named as Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos, a set of islands south-east of the Bahamas in the Atlantic Ocean.

Closer to home, the best beach in Europe was named as Playa de Ses Illetes on the Spanish island of Formentera.
