Police investigating 14-year-old’s death following sand dunes incident

Police are currently investigating the teenager’s death, but have confirmed that they are not currently treating it as suspicious.

The emergency services were called to the sand dunes, in St Brelade, shortly before 6 pm on Friday.

Both the States and Honorary Police worked together with ambulance and fire crews at the scene to try and save the teenager, but he later died.

In a statement, the police said that they had first been notified that the 14-year-old had been injured on the sand dunes at 5.56 pm, but that ‘tragically this young boy has now died’.

‘The circumstances of how he became injured are not yet known but we are not treating it as suspicious at this time,’ they said.

‘His family have been notified.

‘Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.’
