Ports of Jersey said that because they are experiencing ‘high demand’ for the berthing of boats measuring between 12 and 14 metres in Elizabeth Marina, La Collette Marina and St Helier Marina and Islanders are invited to join a waiting list.

Islanders will need to pay £78.90 to have their name put on the list, which Mike Tait, group leisure manager for Ports of Jersey, said is to ensure that those who sign up are ‘serious’ about using the facilities.

As a general guide, Ports of Jersey have said that it can take up to two years before berths of between 15 and 20 metres become available in Elizabeth Marina. In La Collette and St Helier marinas the waiting times are believed to be ‘substantially longer’.
