Through its International Women’s Academy, Jersey College for Girls has set up a ‘global college’ so that it can swap ideas and lessons with other institutions.

Dr Peter Le Masurier, teacher at JCG and co-founder of the IWA, said: ‘We are forming links between schools around the world to work collaboratively on projects to empower girls. The idea is for privileged schools to share resources to reduce the difference between rich and poor schools.’

Felicity Thébault (14), who is focusing on the social media and advertising aspect of the global college project, said: ‘The message is that education is important and that everyone should have the right, rather than just people higher up in society.’
