Police seize 26 weapons in a three-year period

A total of 26 weapons were confiscated by officers between 2013 and 2015, according to figures released to the JEP.

Knives were the most common weapon to be confiscated, with 12 taken during the period.

Metal poles came second on the list, with four seized – two in 2013 and two in 2015.

According to the figures, five weapons were taken in 2013, 12 in 2014 and nine in 2015.
