Scout head indecently assaulted teenage girl

Peter Joseph Morris, who became the Jersey Scouting Commissioner a month before the incident, repeatedly touched the teenager, who was aged over 16, on the chest and lower body and attempted to kiss her while they were sitting outside a Scout centre in the Island.

The 48-year-old, who is the current chairman of the Jersey Kidney Patients Association and former parade director of the Battle of Flowers, has since stepped down from the Scouting position – a role in which he set strategy for more than 900 young people in the Island, but was not involved in dealing with scouts on a day-to-day basis.

The national Scout Association, which has allowed girls to join the movement since 1991, has confirmed to the JEP that he will never work for the organisation again.
