Giving evidence on Wednesday to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry via videolink from Edinburgh, Mr Harper thanked those who gave evidence during Operation Rectangle, the police investigation into historical abuse which was launched covertly in 2007.
Mr Harper’s tribute came at the end of two days of evidence, during which he was questioned over how he ran the investigation.
