Former cabinet minister Crysanthus Okemo and the former managing director of Kenya Power and Lighting Company, Samuel Gichuru, are charged with laundering millions of pounds through Island banks.

They have been fighting the Jersey authorities to block extradition since 2011, on the grounds that they may not get a fair trial because of publicity surrounding the case.

According to Kenyan media reports, their bid to stop proceedings taking place in the Island was recently turned down at a hearing in Nairobi.
