In the last two weeks thousands of teenagers have been vaccinated against Meningococcal W disease, known as MenW.

Although it has not reached Jersey, health officials warn that it is only a matter of time before it does.

Students in year groups 10, 11, 12 and 13 in schools and at Highlands College have been offered the protective vaccine to help prevent the disease taking hold in Jersey.
