Floats that had competed in the summer Battle of Flowers parades were adapted for Christmas with light displays and music to entertain the crowds lining the route from the Waterfront, past Liberation Square and along the Esplanade.

Tucked in among such delights as a Cuban Christmas, Rudolf’s Express and Fun in the Snow, were the Battle Bee, the JEP’s big Jepson bear, accompanied by newspaper staff, and Bob Marie’s distinctive taxi with a collection of illuminated festive characters perched on the roof.

Parade director, Jackie Donald said: ‘As always this was one of the highlight’s in Jersey’s festive calendar and a great start to the countdown to Christmas.

‘With many shops opening in St Helier on Sunday many people extended their afternoon and came along to support this fantastic community event.’
