The choir, made up of young Islanders, will take to the stage as part of the BBC Need Choir – which will perform a nationally co-ordinated piece featuring singers from across the UK – to be shown during the annual telethon.
Meanwhile, it is hoped that around £25,000 will be raised for the charity through the Corporate Challenge, which will pit Jersey teams against each other in a series of games throughout the evening.
Teams will be competing for the Challenge Trophy, as well as a cup for raising the most in sponsorship and donations.
In early November, it was revealed that Fort Regent will host the south-west regional Children in Need party.
The event starts at 6 pm on Friday 10 November and will be hosted by Victoria Graham, BBC Spotlight presenter in the south-west, and BBC Jersey’s Clare Burton.
Children in Need, which has the famous eye-patched bear Pudsey as its mascot, has raised more than £790 million since its inception for disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.
The theme of this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal is ‘be a hero’ and fundraisers are being encouraged to dress as their favourite childhood superhero.
As well as the teams taking part in the Corporate Challenge, Islanders are being invited to Fort Regent on the night to present their cheques or the cash they have raised on the day.
Assistant Economic Development Minister Murray Norton, who has helped organise the event, said: ‘Jersey is an amazingly generous community for the BBC Children in Need Appeal and we hope to top that this year with this corporate challenge.
‘Not only will we be raising a healthy sum of money, we will also be showcasing Jersey and the Jersey people as a community that punches above its weight when it comes to helping those in need.’
Meanwhile, BBC Children in Need recently awarded the Jersey Child Care Trust £43,000 to help support youngsters with special educational needs and disabilities.
The trust was awarded the three-year grant ahead of the charity’s 35th anniversary next Friday.
Fiona Vacher, executive director at the Jersey Child Care Trust, said: ‘It is such an honour to know that BBC Children in Need are supporting our work with families in Jersey with a three-year grant award.
‘The difference that this aspect of our work makes for children and everyone around them is wonderful.’
Teams wishing to take part in the corporate challenge, which is free to enter, should email EDGroup@gov.je.
