The Funtasia Travelling Theme Park features a wide variety of rides and traditional stalls and is open daily until Sunday.

Miss Battle, Chantelle Mundy, officially opened the Battle of Flowers funfair at the end of July when a large crowd watched as the 19-year-old, accompanied by her chaperone Kirsty Le Monnier, open the attraction, signalling the start of Battle fortnight.

CHILDREN enjoyed an hour of free rides at the funfair, thanks to the Variety children’s charity last week.

There were plenty of squeals and screams as 100 youngsters took to the rides, including the high swing, the carousel, tea cups, snake train and the popular dodgems.

After more than an hour of fun, the children were treated to hot dogs and burgers and chips and much-needed drinks.

Variety thanked James Cole, the general manager of the funfair, all those who manned the rides and the people in the food van who worked hard to get the children fed promptly.
